Prenuptial agreement

Notarial deed by which engaged couples or spouses arrange property relations differently from the default SJM regime. Property can thus be excluded from SJM — owned by only one spouse. For a mortgage, this means the other spouse is not a co-debtor. Useful for couples with a large income difference or divorce risk.
