Czech mortgage glossary

Purpose-bound mortgage

A mortgage strictly for housing — purchase, construction, renovation, refinancing of a housing loan. It has a lower interest rate than non-purpose (American). The bank verifies the money truly goes to a housing purpose — typically paying directly to the seller or contractor. Mortgage interest tax deduction applies only to purpose-bound mortgages.
