NRKI, the Non-Banking Credit Register (Nebankovní registr klientských informací)
NRKIA credit register into which non-bank lenders (leasing companies, instalment and consumer credit firms) enter data on their clients' loans, recording both proper repayment and arrears. It is run by the CNCB interest association, with CRIF (Czech Credit Bureau) as technical operator, and shares data with the banking register BRKI. Banks consult it when assessing creditworthiness under § 86 of Act No. 257/2016 Coll.
Example
An applicant for a CZK 4,000,000 mortgage leases a car with a payment of CZK 6,000, and two years ago he fell two months behind on a purchase on instalments. The bank will see both in NRKI. It adds the CZK 6,000 lease payment to the planned mortgage payment of CZK 23,384 and weighs the old arrears in scoring. Small arrears that have been settled rarely stop a mortgage but may worsen the rate.
In practice
Before applying, request extracts from NRKI and BRKI (one request via the Client Information Centre, Klientské informační centrum) and from SOLUS. Check that repaid contracts are shown as closed; the lender must correct a wrong entry. An old credit card or instalment purchase you forgot to mention will turn up in the register, and the bank will hold the omission against you.
How it differs
BRKI is filled by banks and NRKI by non-bank lenders, and the two exchange data (see SOLUS / BRKI). SOLUS is a separate association that mainly keeps negative records, including those from telecom operators and energy suppliers. All three feed the picture the bank builds of your credit history.
